Sr. ACCOUNTANT

General Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for providing full cycle bookkeeping, business and production-based accounting services. These functions include accounts payable, accounts receivable, biweekly payroll processing, monthly close including journal entries, job costing, account reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition and financial statements. The position is considered full-time exempt regular staff.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Code and enter invoices

  • Maintain vendor information, including W-9 forms and independent contractor agreements

  • Prepare 1099s

  • Generate computer checks on a bi-weekly basis, including rush checks

  • Maintain files of invoices paid

  • Manage sales commissions for outside sales representatives

  • Manage project director fee commissions for internal & external directors

Accounts Receivable

  • Prepare client invoices

  • Record client payments

  • Contact clients regarding outstanding receivables

General Ledger

  • Prepare journal entries including payroll and timecard data in accounting system

  • Prepare bi-weekly percentage of completion of all on-going projects and related earned revenue and backlog analysis

  • Monthly analysis and reconciliation of trial balance with journal entries as appropriate

General Accounting Duties (Include but not limited to)

  • Process bi-weekly payroll

  • Cash flow analysis (Forecasting / Project actualization and reporting)

  • Distribution of job production expenses to production management team

  • Assistance with labor analysis for allocated costs

  • Disburse and reconcile petty cash

  • Preparation of monthly financial statements for management and external CPA

  • Assist in annual OpEx and CapEx budgeting

  • Reconcile bank accounts

  • Benefits Processing

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED. Two-year associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field a plus.

  • 3-5 years full charge bookkeeping/accounting experience

  • Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with all levels within the organization.

  • Knowledge of personal computers and applications included in MS Office Suite, specifically strong Excel skills

  • Previous use of computerized accounting systems

  • Is a self-starter

  • Thrives in a collaborative, team player environment

  • Customer service and detail oriented

  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to maintain confidential information

Preferred Abilities and Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Xero Software experience

  • ADP Workforce Now experience
